Arena-flow, LLC is now accepting resumes for its Project Engineer position.

Position Description

The Project Engineer will perform engineering analysis of sand core blowing and curing systems for the foundry industry using our Arena-flow® Sand Core Engineering software technology.  The ideal candidate will have sand foundry experience, preferably in a tool shop or core room, as well as knowledge of commercial foundry Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software.  Successful applicants will be self-starters and will assume responsibility for numerous engineering projects with minimal supervision.  Additional duties include customer support, training and software testing.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Understand customer problems and objectives
  • Perform computational analysis of sand foundry systems using Arena-flow
  • Evaluate and analyze results
  • Critically and practically evaluate proposed tooling design modifications
  • Customer interaction and reporting
  • Customer support, including some travel (<20%)
  • Customer training
  • Software testing
  • Author and present technical papers related to solutions of industrial problems

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent
  • Industrial foundry experience
  • Fundamental understanding of core-making and sand casting processes
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with CAD and CAE applications
  • Experience with commercial CFD software is a plus
  • Critical evaluation skills.  Ability to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment.  Ability to rationally explain decisions to management and customers.
  • Desire for continuous learning
  • Foreign language fluency is a plus
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
